got a full synthetic shake roof put on and its a major upgrade. the material looks so much like real cedar its kind of crazy, the color variation between the individual shakes gives it that natural look. everything around the edges and valleys is really clean and tight

first impression was solid, the person who came for the estimate was on time and didnt try to upsell us on stuff we didnt need. they looked at the roof from the ground and then got up there to check things closer which was good because the last company we talked to never even went up. once we agreed on everything the timeline they gave us was accurate, they started when they said they would. the crew was pretty efficient, they had a rhythm going and it was clear theyve done a lot of these synthetic shake installs. during the project they kept the driveway passable which mattered because we both work from home and still needed to get cars in and out. the final result is a roof that looks like real shake from the sidewalk and even up close its hard to tell the difference. the color has some variation in it that gives it a natural feel

We had been putting off a roof replacement for a couple years and finally pulled the trigger this spring. Got estimates from three companies and went with Synthetic Shake and Slate Roofing based on the material options they presented during the quote. The synthetic slate was what caught our attention because it mimics real slate without the weight issues that would have required structural reinforcement. The estimate was detailed and itemized which made it easy to compare against the other bids. Scheduling happened about a month out from signing, which was fine since it gave us time to prep the yard and move some things in the garage. Once the crew started they were consistent every day, usually on site by seven thirty. Tear off and disposal happened fast and the new slate went up over the following days. The project manager checked in a couple of times during the install to walk us through progress. End result looks clean and the color is a really nice match for our brick.

started thinking about replacing the roof last fall and finally got serious about it in january. looked at a few companies but these guys had the most experience with synthetic materials which is what we wanted. the estimator came out and spent a good amount of time looking at the roof from every angle, not just a quick drive by quote. we went with synthetic shake and it took maybe a week and a half from the first day of tear off to final cleanup. crew was out at our place near Clarendon Hills every morning before 8. they kept a dumpster in the driveway and loaded it as they worked instead of piling stuff everywhere. the new roof has this really clean cedar look that works well with the rest of the house. scheduling and communication throughout was simple, no chasing anyone down for updates
